First Responder

The First Responder program is intended for individuals who, in the course of performing other duties, are likely (or expected) to respond to emergencies, such as law enforcement officers, fire fighters, and other public and private safety and service personnel. The goal of the program is to help students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to provide lifesaving interventions while awaiting the arrival of EMS personnel.

All First Responder materials thoroughly cover the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Standard Curriculum for First Responders.

Note: It is not the intent of this training center or ASHI’s First Responders program to cross the EMS Scope of Practice threshold. An individual who has been trained and certified as an ASHI First Responder by this training center is NOT Licensed and Credentialed and may NOT practice emergency medical care as an EMS Provider within and organized state EMS system. Wilderness First Aid

The Wilderness First Aid course provides information on how to handle common injuries and illnesses when medical care is an hour away or more.
